Metronet’s Directors of Safety & Assurance and Projects required a solution to multi-disciplinary safety and management problems in terms of potential Critical Asset Failures (CAFs).
These were categorised according to their potential impact on the railway and its safe and reliable operation.
Our approach was to analyse obstacles and develop a workable solution. The data that we needed to examine was contained in over 100 different sources.
A database and management reporting routine was produced to provide confidence to Metronet and its London Underground client, that the CAF programme was being professionally managed and controlled.
We carried out a significant number of interviews, leading to considerable liaison and negotiation, to ensure an understanding between the parties involved and related departments across our client’s organisation. As part of the CAF allocation process, we also analysed the financial impact on every relevant project.
