Defence Evaluation & Research Agency (DERA) Site Strategic Plans
The Defence Evaluation Research Agency (DERA), a public sector organisation that was within the UK Ministry of Defence, was responsible for managing all military research and development in the UK.
To understand what infrastructure facilities were needed for the 30+ DERA sites across the UK, for the next 10 to 20 years, a series of projects was instigated to support each site’s Director in delivering a Site Strategic Plan (SSP).
We led the development of a significant proportion of the SSPs required, particularly for the twelve major sites.
The focus for the SSPs was on the Estate and Facilities required for each site's future activities.
After our work the Secure Facilities Management division of DERA was very successfully privatised and this formed the precursor to privatising the majority of DERA to form QinetiQ.
